Verstraete IML Labels Have Metallic Look

MALDEGEM, BELGIUM | Verstraete announces metallic IML labels said to make products stand out on the shelves. Company produces the labels with metallized cold foil and also
prints them with metallic UV ink (Metallic IMLINK). The metallic effect is no longer achieved through the foil but through the use of silver ink. By printing traditional IML labels with metallic silver ink, company says it is able to offer a cheaper alternative for packaging in applications in which the premium solution of using metallic IML labels is not feasible.

Reportedly, by using metallic silver ink, company is able to obtain an end result that is very close to that achieved with rotogravure and flexo printing procedures but at a lower price and with the advantages of sheet-fed offset printing.
