CRYSTAL LAKE, IL | The 2013 IADD·FSEA Odyssey, scheduled for May 1–3, 2013, at the Nashville, TN, Convention Center, will feature a comprehensive line-up of machinery, programming, trends and technologies for attendees in the fields of die-cutting/die-making, print finishing, folding carton, corrugated, and specialty markets. The event, with the theme of "Plug In," is sponsored by the International Assn. of Diecutting and Diemaking (IADD) and the Foil & Specialty Effects Assn. (FSEA).
Among the machinery featured in educational sessions on the Techshop floor will be the Bobst North America Novacut 106E die-cutter, said to deliver versatility and performance in one cost-effective package, and the Kluge EHF foil stamping, embossing, and die-cutting press, which reportedly has a stronger main frame, stronger platen bolts, and heavier side arms.
Also operating on the Techshop floor will be the Gerber combination flat and rotary laser system; the Signature folder/gluer from American International Machinery; a tabletop Cast and Cure Unit from Breit Technologies; the Crest foil stamper/die-cutter with new laser scanner safety technology from My Press Needs; the Serrapid mounting system from Sharp Intl.; a Preco automated converting flatbed die-cutter and rotary converting platform and the MK21060SER Duopress foil stamping, embossing, and die-cutting press from Masterwork.
The Odyssey's Techshop environment simulates a working production shop floor where technical sessions on die-cutting, die-making, folding/gluing, foil stamping/embossing, and other print finishing processes are taught on-press throughout the three-day event.
