APG Transducers Suited for Harsh Conditions

LOGAN, UT | Automation Products Group (APG) reports its PT-400 heavy-duty pressure transducers have received ATEX and IECEx certification, rated EX II 1G Ex ia IIB T4 Ga, for use in hazardous locations throughout the world. Transducers are said to deliver reliable high-pressure sensing in harsh environments that are prone to high shock and vibration and high-pressure spikes throughout a wide range of operating temperatures.
APG product development engineer Elden Tolman explains, “Now the PT-400 pressure transducer features a laser-welded housing that is pressure-tested and completely sealed. The inside of each unit is filled with potting to cushion the electronics from intense shock and vibration, while adding another layer of protection against dust and moisture.” PT-400 pressure transmitters provide a minimum of 10 million operating cycles, reportedly with high accuracy to ±0.1% F.S. (B.F.S.L.), in operating temperatures from -40–180 deg F. They cover pressures ranging from 0–20,000 psi, along with high burst pressure to 3x full scale (limited by the process connection) and overpressure to 2x full scale for in-process reliability.
