TROY, OH | In March, officials from the US Dept. of Agriculture and Ohio Rural Development offices toured 3 Sigma Corp., a supplier of specialty custom adhesive and top-coated materials for the pressure-sensitive label industry. Visiting the company, to view the results from a recent $2.25 million USDA Business & Industry loan guarantee, were USDA Business and Cooperative Programs director Judith Canales and Ohio Rural Development director J. Anthony Logan. The funds enabled 3 Sigma to finance the purchase, transportation, and installation of a 78-in. wide aqueous coater.
Reflecting on the plant visit, Canales said, “Our whole purpose with business and industry loans and guarantees is to stimulate rural economies. Moreover, a top priority is enabling manufacturing and production to remain in and return to the United States. Our true value is to ensure that companies like 3 Sigma are able to stay in their communities and grow.”
Tony Rowley, president of 3 Sigma, also commented, “The addition of our new coater will effectively double our capacity, and we expect to add several jobs as a direct result. The USDA loan guarantee made that possible.”
