WESTERLY, RI | Maxson Automatic Machinery Co. celebrates its 100th anniversary of providing in- and off-line sheeting solutions for the printing, paper, and specialties industries. Founded in 1912 by Charles B. Maxson, the company has a history of innovation and design in rotary cutters and sheet-handling systems.
Maxson services a global market with installations in South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia as well as the North American market. Says third-generation president Joseph F. Matthews, “As an engineering oriented-equipment manufacturer, we take pride in responding to our customers’ unique requirements…. This approach has allowed us to serve niche markets such as digital sizes, large sheet format, cut to mark, and sensitive coating products in meeting their converting needs.”
Matthews predicts more developments in sheeting designs to cost-effectively address shorter production runs, ease of operation, and simpler maintenance requirements. “As we enter our second century, we recognize from our history that anticipating our customers needs is the key to our future. We look forward to that continuing challenge.”
