Economist Fry to Keynote ICE USA

HERTS, UK | ICE USA—the International Converting Exhibition will present Dr. Robert Fry, the chief economist for Robert Fry Economics, as its keynoter, reports organizer Mack Brooks. The show is scheduled for April 25–27, 2017, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL.

Dr. Robert Fry

Dr. Fry will deliver his address on Tuesday, April 25, at 9 a.m., discussing current conditions in the global economy and the outlook for future growth, with an emphasis on global manufacturing and the health of the overall US economy. Topics will include growth in US GDP and industrial production; recovery of the US housing sector; and the strength of the US dollar, inflation, and interest rates.

Organizers say ICE USA is designed for key decision makers in the converting industry specializing in engineering, sales, factory management, production and R&D. In addition to events such as the “Ask the Expert” program and educational training, there will be more than 300 exhibiting companies on the expo floor featuring machinery and products for the conversion of paper, film, nonwovens, and other web-based materials.

“Our goal is to deliver top-notch educational content at ICE USA,” says Melissa Magestro, executive VP of Mack Brooks Exhibitions, “so we are thrilled to have Dr. Fry as the keynote speaker. Attendees and exhibitors will be impressed by Dr. Fry’s knowledge and how trends in the U.S. economy may affect the converting industry. We want to thank the AIMCAL (Association of International Metallizers, Coaters, and Laminators) for sponsoring Dr. Fry’s appearance.”

Fry was senior economist at DuPont until his retirement in June, 2015. As Chief Economist of Robert Fry Economics, he publishes a new newsletter, Current Economic Conditions, and continues to speak on the economic outlook. He is also a regular monthly guest on Monday & Politics in Delaware, a weekly radio show.
