ISO Poly Films Installs 8th W&H Film Line

GRAY COURT, SC | ISO Poly Films, Inc., a Sigma Plastics Group company, has purchased its fourth blown film extrusion line in less than 18 months from Windmoeller & Hoelscher (W&H), bringing ISO Poly’s total film lines to 11—eight of which are from W&H. The purchase represents the last phase of a $35 million investment to expand its facility and equipment, resulting from a strong commitment to growth and to meet the specialty film needs of its customers. The purchase of the newest line will increase ISO Poly’s annual film output to 100 million lb.
The new line is for three-layer coextrusion production and complements the installation of three other recently installed lines: one for seven-layer barrier, one for five-layer barrier, and another for three-layer coextrusion. The newest three-layer line is a 126-in. VAREX for high output, comprising 90/135/90.30D extruders, 32-in. MAXICONE C Die with OPTIFIL P2K gauge control, Multinip oscillating haul-off, and Filmatic S dual winder with reverse winding capability.

ISO Poly Films and Sigma Plastics Group formed a strategic partnership in 2009. The Gray Court, SC, facility is a 135,000-sq-ft state-of-the-art plant that produces custom-engineered films, including critical application mono-layer, three-layer, five-layer, and seven-layer high barrier coextrusions for the high-end converter market.
