The company's core shredders are designed to handle cores and butt rolls up to 8-in. in diameter at a speed of 40 fpm and shred up to 8 tons of cores/hr. The shredders come in two versions, one that shreds cores and one that shreds cores and sheets. The cores are said to save costly waste-disposal problems for companies using paper cores, including those involved in corrugating, papermaking, printing, and paper, film and foil converting. Advantages include: cores can be recycled on-site and don't have to be trucked away; landfill disposal costs for cores can be eliminated; and the shredded product can be reused or repulped.
