X-Rite Updates Firmware with SCTV

GRAND RAPIDS, MI | X-Rite, supplier of color science and technology, and its subsidiary Pantone, report that its award-winning eXact family of handheld spectrophotometers now includes a Spot Color Tone Value (SCTV) feature that supports the latest ISO 20654 standard. The eXact SCTV configuration allows printers to verify tone value for spot colors that are said to correlate well with visual appearance. With this latest firmware update to the eXact family, printers will be able to more easily verify both spot and process colors that brands specify using the new standard, company says.

Ray Cheydleur, Printing and Imaging Product Portfolio Manager, X-Rite, says, “X-Rite now provides SCTV support across our eXact family, IntelliTrax2, (https://www.xrite.com/categories/scanning-instruments/intellitrax2) and ColorCert Suite 3.0 (https://www.xrite.com/categories/formulation-and-quality-assurance-software/colorcert) process control software, providing customers with the color management and workflow tools required to meet evolving industry standards, better formulate inks, and take into account the effect of substrates on color. Customers can feel confident they have the most accurate and consistent color measurement instruments on the market.”

Reportedly, a new search function in eXact provides faster and easier access to color standards such as Pantone and apply them to a job. Users can now select Pantone or a standard from another color library, by name or number. Additional updates are designed to further improve the user experience.
