NDC to Launch Gauging System at ICE USA

IRWINDALE, CA | NDC Technologies, a global provider of precision measurement and control solutions, will debut innovations for narrow web gauging applications at ICE USA, April 25–27, 2017, in Orlando, FL. Included in the line-up will be the new 8000-SLIM web gauging system.

The SlimTrak scanner

The system features the SlimTrak scanner, said to be the converting industry’s answer for a compact measurement system on narrow web lines. The SlimTrak scanner has a small cross-section footprint for tight-space installations and supports the company’s gauges. The system is built on the TDi quality management software platform and is said to deliver fast, real-time measurement and tight control of key product parameters such as thickness, coat weight, basis weight, and moisture. The 8000-SLIM is available in a variety of scanner and gauge configurations.

The new ConvertIR gauge provides fixed-point, non-scanning on-line measurement of paper moisture or coat weight of coatings on paper and films. This IR gauge is based on company’s optical filter technology and is reported to deliver long-term stability and accurate measurement performance, independent of changes in ambient conditions such as lighting, temperature or humidity.

Also on display will be NDC’s Beta LaserMike LaserSpeed gauge. LaserSpeed is said to measure the length and speed of any moving surface with better than ±0.03% accuracy and without contacting the product. Uses laser-based technology to precisely measure both web and packaging products involving paper, film, sheet, and foil.
